Georgian
Georgian is a Kartvelian language spoken in Georgia.
It is written with an intricate script called mkheduli (meaning “military”) and two other scripts (Asomtavruli and Nuskhuri). No distinction is made between upper and lower case. The scripts originally had 38 letters but Georgian currently uses a 33-letter alphabet.
Georgian uses a similar numbering system to French. For example, 80 would be expressed as “four-twenties”.
Many Georgian surnames end in –dze (meaning “son”) or –shvili (“child”).
