Breton

Though spoken by fewer people today, Breton remains a symbol of regional pride and cultural identity.

Cornish is thought to be the most similar language to Breton and shares many words. The shared heritage can also be seen in names of towns, where the prefix “Tre”, meaning “homestead”, is appended to many places in Cornwall (Trethewey, Trevescan, Treyarnon) and Brittany (Tréflez, Tréflaouénan, Trézilide etc).
