Geo Language Services – ESG statement

Aligned with the UN Global Compact Ten Principles and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development

As a global language services provider, we recognise the significance of our role: enabling inclusive communication across cultures, reducing our environmental impact, and upholding high standards of governance, transparency and professional integrity.

As a participant in the UN Global Compact, we are committed to aligning our strategies and operations with its Ten Principles on human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through our daily business conduct and long-term partnerships.

Environmental Responsibility

Supporting SDG 13: Climate Action  |  UNGC Principles 7, 8 & 9

We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through practical, measurable action — not just policy commitments. Consistent with the precautionary approach to environmental challenges set out in UNGC Principle 7, we take proactive steps to prevent harm before it occurs.

– Minimise energy usage across our operations, including a preference for virtual meetings over travel and sustainable procurement — reflecting our commitment to greater environmental responsibility under Principle 8

– Operate as a paperless organisation, underpinned by cloud-based systems and digital-first workflows that reduce waste and support the development of environmentally responsible practices (Principle 9)

– Offset unavoidable carbon emissions through verified programmes supporting global reforestation, clean energy, and climate resilience — contributing to the goals of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda

Social Impact

Supporting SDG 4: Quality Education  |  SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth  |  SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities  |  UNGC Principles 1–6

Language is a bridge — and we are committed to using it as a force for equity, access and human connection. The 2030 Agenda’s pledge to leave no one behind is central to our mission: language barriers are one of the most pervasive drivers of inequality, and we believe language services providers have a direct responsibility to help dismantle them.

We are proud to:

– Build long-term, values-aligned partnerships with linguists and collaborators that uphold freedom of association, fair remuneration and safe working conditions — consistent with UNGC Principles 3–6 on labour rights and the elimination of discrimination

– Offer reduced-rate services to humanitarian organisations and causes aligned with our values, advancing access to information and inclusive communication in support of SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities) and SDG 16.10 (public access to information)

– Champion inclusive recruitment and professional development across our global network, with a firm commitment to equal opportunity, accessibility and fair pay — directly supporting SDG 8 (Decent Work) and UNGC Principle 6 on non-discrimination in employment

– Support multilingual access to knowledge and services, contributing to SDG 4 (inclusive and equitable quality education) by ensuring that language is never a barrier to learning or participation

Governance & Ethical Business

Supporting SDG 16: Peace, Justice & Strong Institutions  |  SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals  |  UNGC Principles 1, 2 & 10

Sound governance is the foundation of everything we do. We hold ourselves to rigorous standards of compliance, confidentiality and business ethics — and we expect the same of those we work with. Responsible business, as defined by the UN Global Compact, means enacting the same values and principles wherever we have a presence.

– We comply fully with GDPR and applicable global data protection regulations, treating the privacy and security of client data as a non-negotiable obligation — supporting SDG 16 on accountable and transparent institutions

– We support and respect the protection of internationally proclaimed human rights in all our operations and relationships, in line with UNGC Principles 1 and 2, and we actively ensure we are not complicit in human rights abuses anywhere in our value chain

– We work against corruption in all its forms — including extortion and bribery — consistent with UNGC Principle 10, and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and integrity across all client engagements

– As a signatory to the UN Global Compact, we submit our Communication on Progress (CoP) to demonstrate continued accountability and transparent reporting against the Ten Principles

Partnerships & Collective Action

Supporting SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals  |  UNGC Multi-stakeholder engagement

Achieving the SDGs requires bold, cross-sector collaboration. We recognise that no single organisation can deliver systemic change alone, and we actively seek partnerships that amplify our positive impact — across clients, linguist communities, NGOs and peer businesses committed to the same values.

Commitment to Continuous Improvement

ESG is not a checkbox — it is an ongoing commitment to do business responsibly and to pursue opportunities to solve societal challenges through our work. We continually review and strengthen our practices, and as we grow, we are determined to embed the Ten Principles and SDG-aligned practices more deeply into our operations, partnerships and long-term impact.

In line with the UN Global Compact’s Decade of Action, we are committed to bolder, faster and at-scale progress — accelerating our contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
