Sesotho (Southern Sotho)

Sotho is a Bantu language together with other African languages such as Tswana, Kinyarwanda, Swahili and Lingala to name but a few.

It is one of 12 official languages and the 7th most spoken language in South Africa. It is also spoken as a national language in Lesotho.

Sotho actually is a tribal name, which, with the prefix for language (“se-”), becomes Sesotho, and with the prefix for land (“le”) becomes Lesotho.
