Southern Ndebele is a Bantu language together with other African languages such as Zulu, Kinyarwanda, Swahili and Lingala to name but a few.
There are two languages referred to as Ndebele: Northern Ndebele, spoken in Zimbabwe, and Southern Ndebele, spoken in South Africa.
Northern and Southern Ndebele are however mutually intelligible.
