Hungarian
Hungarian is part of the Finno-Ugric language group alongside Finnish and Estonian.
Hungarian is the official language of Hungary and one of the official languages of the European Union. It bears no resemblance at all to the languages of its surrounding countries.
Despite being in the same language group as Estonian and Finnish, recent studies by linguists identified only 200 words with common roots in all three languages. Fifty-five of these concern fishing and fifteen are about reindeer.

Interesting fact
Hungarian words for directions are derived from the sun's movements. Kelet (east) means "rise", while észak (north) means "night", as the sun never shines from the north.
