Fijian
Fijian is spoken by nearly half a million native speakers in Fiji, roughly half of the country’s population. It is the official language of Fiji, alongside English and Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu).
While Fijian only became an official language of Fiji in 1997, there are currently political movements seeking to make it a national language and to require students in Fiji to study the language.
Fijian is a member of the Malayo-Polynesian language group. Other languages in this language group include Tagalog, Maori and Malagasy.
At Geo Language Services, we ensure all translations are respectful and true to Fijian traditions, ensuring effective communication with native speakers.
