Fante

Fante is one of the three main dialects of the Akan dialect continuum, along with Asante and Akuapem (together known as Twi).

Today, Fante is spoken primarily in the Central and Western Regions of Ghana. It is also widely spoken in Tema. Fante is largely influenced by English and uses many loanwords.

Fante is one of three dialects of the Akan language; Asante, Akuapem and Fanti. Asante and Akuapem are better known together as Twi, with which Fanti is mutually intelligible. The Fanti dialect is heavily influenced by English.
