Armenian is a language spoken by millions, not only in Armenia but across the diaspora.
Armenian is a member of the Indo-European language group and is classified as an independent branch. It is recognized as a minority language in several countries, including Cyprus, Hungary, Iraq, Poland, Romania and Ukraine.
Armenian has its own unique script, the Armenian alphabet, which was invented in 405–6 AD under influences from Greek. Three letters, (“ev”, “o” and “fe”) were added to the alphabet’s original 36 letters during the late Middle Ages to make it easier to write loanwords, bringing the total number of letters to 39.
